Anyone for Tennis? Longest match in history

Post by klr » Wed Jun 23, 2010 5:54 pm

There's a men's singles match at Wimbledon that is currently 41-41 in the final set. :o

It's been in play for nearly 8 hours.

Fuck! I have to watch the end of this - I'll turn the tennis on Friday morning!

It's now 55 - 55 :fp:

I wonder if they're doing it deliberately. It's the only way either of them are going to get famous.

I wonder how many women's matches we would have to watch to see this many games :ask:

It actually started yesterday. I think they came back today to play the final set. The final set by itself is longer than the next longest match.

It's now 57-57.

EDIT: 58-57

Play suspended for the evening for bad light. Back tomorrow, when it will probably all be over in 10 minutes. :levi:

Two top class servers - neither with the energy to break the other - I am pretty sure that the count of aces is 99-97 or something like that!

They are both supposed to be playing in the next round tomorrow as well! :dono:

They've both scored more than 100 aces now.

63-63 now. They will surely have to put a plaque up or something to commemorate this when it finishes.

If it ever finishes. :coffee:
