This is the first one I remember having:

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I grew up in a café, we had a juke box! When they took the old ones out we'd sell them on the counter, I would always buy one or two of my favourites (Bohemian Rhapsody, Brown Girl in the Ring, Rivers of Babylon, sailing, 400 children and a Croc in the field :hehe: ). I bought so many and listened to all the hits rotated day after day I haven't a clue which I actually bought first! I used to buy the ones the old boys danced and sang to with my earnings from turning bacon and sausages all saturday.
"Whatever it is, it spits and it goes 'WAAARGHHHHHHHH' - that's probably enough to suggest you shouldn't argue with it." Mousy.

Haircut 100 "Love Plus One".

As for the OP - keeping Ultravox's Vienna off Number One was both a tragedy and utterly, Britishly hilarious.

Which one qualifies best:

1) Disney's "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", published 1966, so I've probably got it as a present in 1967,
2) The Two Man Sound's "Charlie Brown", which my aunt bought for me in 1976, or
3) Mike Oldfield's "Moonlight Shadow", the first one I bought myself, in 1983 or -84?

:ask:

:hehe:

It’s organic. Make stuff for the internet that matters to you, even if it seems stupid. Do it because it’s good and feels important. Put up more cat pictures. Make more songs. Show your doodles. Give things away and take things that are free." - Maureen J

I think it was this:
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

My second was "The Riddle" by Nik Kershaw (12 inch). The third was (probably) "John Kettley Is A Weatherman" by A Tribe of Toffs.

This...

WTF was I thinking?

First proper single was Pinball Wizard by Elton John.
It's funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.
