It's annoying that it cuts to the replays and we can't see if he was sent off.

The OP is of course a lie.

This is the worst tackle ever, when Schumacher nearly killed Battiston in the 1982 World Cup Semi:

 Well that was a tad brutal.
In the best laid plans of history lie the ruins of the past
And a chronicle of suffering shows the mythic pall they cast
To believe is true religion, but to see is truth at last
Oh no, too late to hold a trial, time doesn't wait for the watchmaker's dial

Lots of strange doings in that World Cup, such as the classiest of all pitch invasions by a Kuwaiti sheikh ...

Back in those days, you could commit GBH and nary an eyebrow would be raised.

There was of course ...Brazil...

Eder's goal against the USSR is just staggering in its total brilliance. Oh, for even one moment like that in 2010...

And then there is the classic 1982 debate...

Falcao's veiny arms or Tardelli's rolling eyes?

I remember that match as well - vividly. I was a late convert to The Beautiful Game, and that was one of the first games I sat down and watched end to end. FWIW, I think the first goal by Socrates was better.

You may be right - the way he angles his body when unleashing that shot is extraordinary.
