The only response I was hoping for is the honest view of English folk about the game.

It's not even talked about here in the US, at least not in the media. It's far down on the list of sporting events. There are no prominent analyses of the game. No features on the players. Only a small percentage of soccer fans, like myself, give a hoot about it. Bars and pubs don't advertise "World Cup Game Day" and it's likely I'll have to have someone switch an out-of-town baseball game off the TV in the pub in order to get the World Cup match between the US and England.

If I was hoping for any sort of "response," I think a bit of smack or trash talk would be fun. That's the fun part of these events - the lead up and the banter.
