What concerns me about Islam is not what the "media is saying," but what many Muslims actually do.

1. Praying to Mecca 5 times a day with face to the dirt, groveling.
2. Sha'ria law
3. Burka
4. In Saudi Arabia it is illegal to build churches and synagogues, and women can't drive (and they get criminally prosecuted for being raped)
5. Honor killings
6. Honor rapes
7. Seeking to impose Muslim religious rules on western culture
8. Seeking to impose anti-blasphemy laws through the UN
9. Anti-Jewish and anti-Christian prejudice
10. A whole lot of terrorism

That's the first 10 that came to mind. No, not all Muslims do all of those things. However, enough Muslims do enough of those things to make it a big problem. If Islam was like the Quaker religion, I'd not give it a second thought. But it isn't. Islam is a major force for the crushing and oppression of the human spirit, and the enslavement of the human mind.

It's the symbolism - the face down, ass up, groveling in the dirt. It strikes me as servile and slavish. I find it contemptible. I find it contemptible because as a symbolic gesture it is anathema to human dignity. It is a statement, similar to a kowtow, of submissiveness, of servility - it is the surrender of the human will to the thing toward which one grovels. If one kowtows to an Emperor, one sends a message that the Emperor is superior - that one is groveling to the Emperor. In the case of Muslim face-dirt prayers, it's the same with their deity - their deity wants them to put their faces in the dirt five times a day and acknowledge their servility. If you don't find that contemptible, that's up to you. I do.

I choose to believe the facts. The people that orchestrated the events of 9/11/01 admitted doing it. They are part of a global movement of Islamic terrorism that has announced, in writing, what it plans to do and why. See, Osama Bin Laden's 1998 Declaration of War Against the United States and Fatwa Against Jews and Crusaders. You can google that.
