The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."Trolldor wrote:Ahh cardinal Pell. He's like a monkey after a lobotomy and three lines of cocaine.
Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

I've seen many people hating Billie Piper, and I can't see why. I thought she was super hot in Doctor Who. But I tried watching that show where she plays a hooker, and that just made me go meh. I think she's only good when she's flying around in time and spaceredunderthebed wrote:Agreed although billie piper made it worth watching.Animavore wrote:Dr. Who is shit.

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

I think most people hated her more before she appeared in Doctor Who, during her "music" career (of which the less said the better). I think memories of this period clouded alot of people's initial judgements to the thought of her being in the new Doctor Who when it was first announced.Normal wrote:...I've seen many people hating Billie Piper, and I can't see why...

Oh. Thankfully I've never seen Billie Piper before she showed up in Doctor Who two years ago (for me).Horwood Beer-Master wrote:I think most people hated her more before she appeared in Doctor Who, during her "music" career (of which the less said the better). He was script editor for 2 years(IIRC) and wrote 3 episodes including the infamous Shada, which never got finished, City of Death was one of his, as was The Pirate Planet(Listed as written by David Agnew which was the studio equivalent of A.N. Other.).Rum wrote:Yes he did - including many of Tom Baker's. He was writing Hitch-hikers Guide at the same time it seems and some of it rubbed onto a few of the Tom Baker episodes. (Actually I think he was script editor for the most part).lordpasternack wrote:Oi Jim - Douglas Adams penned some of those earlier episodes!
Shada got reused, in parts, as the plot for Dirk Gently a few years later.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
