Re: So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
I'm in the process (and it's a slow process for lack of available funds) of transitioning my video collection from VHS. One of my old favorites I just got on DVD was The Lost Boys. Wasn't sure how it'd hold up after all this time, but I still thought it was a lot of fun!
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

We rescheduled for Monday. Seems not many kids go to school on Friday around here.Durro wrote:We're seeing Clash of the Titans tomorrow.

Just watched The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Fairly decent film by Terry Gilliam. Imaginative as usual. Not sure how much he had to cut with Heath Ledger dead but it's obvious that all the live action bits set in the real world (London) were done first and he was probably set to do all the blue screen stuff after in Hollywood. They made good use of Depp, Law and Farrell though.

My girlfriend dragged me to see The Bounty Hunter today. I had a look on Rotten Tomatoes before going, it had an 8% rating, which is strange 'cause I had to give it a 0% when we got back.

I'm watching "King Kong vs Godzilla" at the moment. Gripping stuff.

I've said it elsewhere, but I will say it again - go see Kick-Ass if you possibly can. I saw it yesterday and its an extra special film (though very violent in a Tarantino sort of way).

King Kong and Godzilla both tumble into the water and King Kong swims away. Both the Toho Japan version and the MGM/Universal US version do not differ there. The US version only has the reporter in the end wishing Kong a safe journey home and you do not hear Godzilla's cry in the scene where Kong swims away. Even the US ending doesn't mention if Godzilla is killed or not.Gawdzilla wrote:Which ending do you have, KK win or Big G win?leo-rcc wrote:I'm watching "King Kong vs Godzilla" at the moment. Anyhow, we ended up seeing How to Train Your Dragon in 3-D, as Claire my 7 y.o. decided that Clash of the Titans looked too scary for her.
HTTYD was a fun movie. The relationship between hiccup and his viking father was way too harsh for a kids' animated movie IMO and I wondered why the vikings all had Scottish accents, but apart from that, it was good fun and an enjoyable movie. Not as sophisticated as The Incredibles, but it was a bit of amusing fun that kids and most adults will like.

We liked CoTT. I think Ray would have been pleased. Interesting message about religion in there as well.

Watched "They Came Back. (Les Revenants)" last night. - A French zombie film with a difference!
70 million people are reanimated and just mysteriously reappear in the streets etc. but instead of running around eating brains they just wander around causing logistical/safety/emotional problems etc.
