Indeed. Even Trent Reznor himself loves that version.Charlou wrote:The Johnny Cash version of Hurt ... so poignant ...

Cash did many great covers on his "American" series of albums in the years before he died, like Personal Jesus, One, Rusty Cage, I Won't Back Down, Solitary Man and some others. He covered Glen Danzig's "Thirteen," which is awesome. He may have ended his career as great as he began it.leo-rcc wrote:Indeed. Right after I bought it, I was disappointed too, but it grew on me. I gained an appreciation for it. His cover of Lightfoot's "If you could read my mind" is great, as is "God's Gonna Cut You Down" and "Like the 309." Actually, I grew like all the songs. It's an album about death, I think. I think Cash knew that he didn't have much time left when he was making these recordings.Feck wrote:Coito ergo sum wrote:Cash did many great covers on his "American" series of albums in the years before he died, like Personal Jesus, One, Rusty Cage, I Won't Back Down, Solitary Man and some others.
