Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Okay, Irre, that was crazy! How did you manage to hit a baddie every time> I thought you were privy to information that we weren't! I'm surprised that only sifaka was guilty. Why did you want to deflect the guilt off Mantis and onto noncredo so badly? Was it just because of her more prominent role?

Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
I left you off the list because you had already been cleared, it seemed redundant to put your declaration there, and even if I was town, I didn't know how to be helpful without looking suspect, this was my first one of these games, since a certain monkey killed me in the first night of the last one.irreligionist wrote:
DP: for someone, along with ksen and higgs2, who knew so much about Dune, you were SO bloody unhelpful! Pulling the list of declarations together meant you were spending time on the thread, but you weren't really helping the team (leaving off declarations, including mine, didn't help your case).

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

DP, you might consider letting the GM in on the scum threads if you use them again in the future. The GM can answer questions right there instead of doing the whole PM route.
Also, GMs kinda like it when they get to see the wheels turning in the minds of the scum team. It's a lonely role, but somebody's gotta do it. I often cc the GM on scum team pms when I'm scum for that reason.

Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
You wouldn't see it in the threads, but rather than a peanut gallery we use an afterlife writeboard - the game mods & dead players only (although I guess spectators would be welcome if they asked) - players are given the password when they're dead. We did it via PMs before but once the body count starts rising you couldn't include enough recipients in board PMs on RDF.oblivion wrote:DP, you might consider letting the GM in on the scum threads if you use them again in the future. I will later but jeez, I can't believe you were able to hit a baddie every single time. By the way, one of the things that really convinced me that noncredo & MAT weren't lying was when MAT said that she was Chani because Chani is my daughter and hadn't been present until that point in the game. I'll read up on the scum thread when my girlfriend leaves. Incidentally, I should get back to her. Congratulations, town! Thanks to oblivion for running this, irreligionist for being such an efficient assassin and 95theses for helping to bring a few key members of the town together. Without you, it would have been much harder to organize.

I thought about it, but then decided to be a true Harkonnen and keep everything out of sight, if the opportunity arises again I'll let you in on the dark places. :twisted:oblivion wrote:DP, you might consider letting the GM in on the scum threads if you use them again in the future. I need to do some serious work on appearing to be innocent though.

Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
After my stuff-up with lynching Mantis last game, she could have been scum and I'd have let her get away with itheyzeus wrote:Okay, Irre, that was crazy! I didn't have any extra info, I just had to watch the thread and get a feel for guilt/innocence. I did think sifaka was always tooooo quick to lament the fall of a good guy and spit on the bad guy, so she was on my list.
The whole noncred/MAT nearly did my head in yesterday. It just seemed to easy for the innocents to have two more able to come out of the woodwork. And the fact they didn't investigate someone other than 95theses seemed just too convenient.

DP, your downfall was being so knowledgeable about Dune, then not actually helping the team. If you'd stayed detached from the game, I'd never have gone for you as I'd have assumed you were just busy with your admin stuff. Please don't ban me
