Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
Well a "woman" can be anyone since the gender of one's role does not necessarily match the gender of the player.
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
Sure there is. Why are you reluctant to say your target from last night? Were you recruited last night?CookieJon wrote:I don't think there's any point in saying who I actually tried to investigate,
I suspect you are wrong. Everyone can't block. I can't block, you should know that you can't block . . . so it stands to reason on those two items alone that not everyone can block.I suspect, however, that anyone can block
Do you still win with Town?
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
Further,
My list of suspects (based on not much, admittedly) is currently:
4. heyzeus
7. NonCredo
8. sifaka
9. Miss Anne Thrope
15. AshtonBlack
16. MantisDreamz
18. ksen
19. higgs2
20. Evil Spock
I was investigating one of those people.
Also, when 95Theses was asking for statements to use his truthsaying abilities on, DP's response struck me as slightly suspicious...

Now, he may share the bloodline of Atreides, but does that necessarily mean he's not a traitor? It seems to be too carefully worded for my liking. Care to elaborate a bit, DP?DP wrote:And for 95theses, I share the bloodline of Paul Atriedes.

If the role is a male Oblivion would not have written that CJ was blocked by a female.heyzeus wrote:Well a "woman" can be anyone since the gender of one's role does not necessarily match the gender of the player.
Hey . . . how many females were involved with House Harkonnen? Are we dealing with a Bene Gesserit faction as well?
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
I meant, of course, anyone with blocking ability apart from the person being investigated, as opposed to a person with the ability to block only if they themselves are being investigated. If the latter were the case, then I could see the point in revealing my suspect last night.ksen wrote:Sure there is. Why are you reluctant to say your target from last night? Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
There are two players that still haven't said anything:
Miss Anne Thorpe
Evil Spock
as well as several who only started to show up after we were eying the inactive players suspiciously. I don't know if trying to lynch the silent players is a dead end or not but I'm not sure if we have much else to go on. I think scum are more likely to be silent but players can also be silent just because they don't have anything to say. I'm a little drowsy right now and I'm not thinking straight so I'm not sure.

I know but looking for a female isn't going to lead us anywhere because we don't know the genders of the players' characters in the game.ksen wrote:If the role is a male Oblivion would not have written that CJ was blocked by a female.heyzeus wrote:Well a "woman" can be anyone since the gender of one's role does not necessarily match the gender of the player.

(for the benefit of the tape, and 95Theses... )
"No, I was not recruited!"
I am struggling with not knowing what roles there are, or even what the rules are about how those roles operate.
For instance, I'd love to know if the baddies get to know who my target was, if the blocker can block anyone or was it just specific to themselves being investigated, etc..

Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
Yes, that's true. However we do know the gender of Virphen's character so we can know that CJ was not accidently blocked by him. Which was the question I was originally responding to when I brought up Thufir's gender.heyzeus wrote:I know but looking for a female isn't going to lead us anywhere because we don't know the genders of the players' characters in the game.

Was AshtonBlack killed by a vigilante-type character, by the way?

Ah, okay. Sorry. I should probably step away from the keyboard until I'm more alert.ksen wrote:Yes, that's true. CJ, go here for a list of roles and how they typically operate.CookieJon wrote:I am struggling with not knowing what roles there are, or even what the rules are about how those roles operate.

I doubt scum know who you targetted unless they have a Watcher or a Tracker on their team that were targeting you.
