The current Oscar show was badly staged in part of it. They had another stage in the middle somewhere that only had one camera on it, so you couldn't see a close up of the presenters, which took away from being able to enjoy the gowns.
I like that regular ties have replaced bow ties too for tuxedos.

I enjoy watching the Oscars. I was happy that Jeff Bridges won, and that Avatar didnt win much. However Sandra Bullock shouldnt have won, I thought Gabourey Sidibe should have won.

I haven't had chance to look at them all yet. I usually catch up with the red carpet stuff a few days later on the Internet and in magazines. I watched some of the ceremony in news clips but I missed most of the red carpet beforehand. I'll catch up with the pics soon and tell you what I think of those dresses.Pluto2 wrote:Same here. When I visited LA a few years ago, I got lucky as there were very few tourists around and so my daughter and I had the "Oscars tour" of the Kodak theatre to ourselves. The guy doing the tour was an actor (of course!) and the week before I went there, I'd seen in him an episode of Friends. Our private tour was all very camp and starry-gossipy but my daughter and I had a great time and enjoyed every spangly minute of it!

Have you tried Zappo's? Shipping is free, even for returns. They are on the pricier side, but I have never been disappointed with the quality and very importantly the customer service. I've ordered shoes in the evening, and the often come the next day. I hate that the Oscars make my commute even more hellish than it normally is thanks to closing down part of Hollywood Blvd, but otherwise I enjoy watching it and betting on winners. I don't take stock in it though considering how many times they get it wrong. I also enjoy the fashion
