I'm watching American Werewolf in London and the name of the pub at the beginning is The Slaughtered Lamb :lol: That's the name of a pub a few miles away. I never knew they got the name from this film.

It all caters to big stars' pet indie projects, films that are uber-dramatic and boring as shit, films that no one wants to see now and no one will remember five years from now. If I had a dollar for every time the acting oscars went to biographical roles...

That's not to say that pop shit doesn't seep through the cracks and grab awards beyond effects and art. Case in point: Up. Crash. Shakespeare in Love. Okay, I'll admit Shakespeare in love was entertaining. But hardly deserving of any of those awards.

I stopped giving a fuck years ago.

Going by a quick flick through the newpaper the other day Kathryn Bigelow: Male Gigolo is supposed to win everything for her film about the brave boys getting blown up. Oorah!

Exploiting patriotism, a successful formula since.... well :ask: ever (or 6000 years :lol: )

There, now no-one has to worry about not watching it.

I caught the end of the show. When they gave the Best Actress award to Sandra Bullock for "The Blind Side" I had to turn it off I was so disgusted.
