I know. Cleese and Palin in Wanda, and Eric Idle in Nuns. Why are you being so anal? Should I have said "Python-related films"? I just figured everybody would know what I meantAnimavore wrote:It had 1 Python member.tattuchu wrote:They're Python films in that they have Python members in them. That shower scene though. Fuck. I'd forgotten about that.![]()
Filming that shower scene musta been awful rough on Robbie Coltraine

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

I'm sorry but when someone says a "Python" movie I think of a Python movie.tattuchu wrote:

I've no idea why that is.

Maybe I should watch it again. It's not like I paid for it or anything.

John Pilger talks about Redacted here.
Mentions Hurt Locker also.

Thanks for that critique. I share many of his sentiments.Animavore wrote:John Pilger talks about Redacted here.

I'm not sure what he's referring to when he mentions Invictus, which is not nominated for Best Picture.
Avatar,The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglorious Basterds, Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire, A Serious Man, Up, and Up in the Air are the nominees.
I haven't seen An Education or Up. Of the remaining films I have seen it's too close a call for me to decide who should win Best Picture. What do other people think?

I'd like to see District 9 take it, but I don't think it stands a chance.
Re: So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
He never actually says "Best Picture". He just talks about the Oscars in general. Invictus is up for Best Actor and Supporting Actor.maiforpeace wrote:Thanks for that critique. I share many of his sentiments.Animavore wrote:John Pilger talks about Redacted here.

I'm not surprised at his anger at that film. The apartheid is something dear to his heart. His brave reporting of the situation was integral to exposing the injustice in South Africa.

Re: So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
Whoa. I can see why Bill O'Reilly derided that film, American critics were outraged and it was withdrawn from cinemas quite speedily.
The cheek of De Palma to show Iraqis as human beings and good ol' American soldiers capable of losing their morality and committing base acts in a war situation especially an ongoing war.
That said its not that great of a movie. Its marred by bad acting and it's just not that involving even though he's trying to portray a gruesome truth about war.
There was a film in the 80s with Michael J. Fox which done the same thing but better. Can't remember the name.
The cheek of De Palma to show Iraqis as human beings and good ol' American soldiers capable of losing their morality and committing base acts in a war situation especially an ongoing war.

"Bullit" with Steve Mcqueen. I've never seen the movie before, but I enjoyed it very much.
