PETA
I have heard many bad things about PETA. Like digging up remains of a scientists granmother (or something), releasing Mink into the wild in a country where they're nt native, and the Mink then went on to cause destruction in the local area. etc.
I would like to know other members thoughts.

PETA are scum. Anyone should be able to recognize this

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all. -Douglas Adams

Why can't I have 3 votes so I can also add "kill animals"?

Actually that was ALF that dug up the remains of a scientist but it has been found out that PETA fund them.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:I have heard many bad things about PETA. I don't have any time for PETA and would be interested to know more, Animavore. Is there a news item on this I can read?Animavore wrote:Deep Sea Isopod wrote: Actually that was ALF that dug up the remains of a scientist but it has been found out that PETA fund them.

Oh sorry. It was an elderly relative of someone who bred guinea pigs that they stole.Blip wrote:I don't have any time for PETA and would be interested to know more, Animavore. I saw a programme about them on TV a couple of years ago but missed the start so I got it wrong.
Anyway, here's an article on the ALF about it.

Re: PETA
To say that we are just caving in to animal rights terrorism as the article said is not exactly true I know for a fact that the police had an under cover guy in the ALF ten years ago .

Actually the programme I saw had him in it. Wish I could remember what it was. Almost certain it was Channel 4 or ITV.Feck wrote:To say that we are just caving in to animal rights terrorism as the article said is not exactly true I know for a fact that the police had an under cover guy in the ALF ten years ago .

Re: PETA
There was another docu where a reporter went undercover to infiltrate PETA. Can't remember what it was called though.Animavore wrote:Actually the programme I saw had him in it. That's the one I'm on about. The cop was in it briefly silhouetted.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:There was another docu where a reporter went undercover to infiltrate PETA. Re: PETA
I had a huge argument with someone supposedly with PETA last week, telling me I'm enslaving my dogs and my cat by making them into domestic pets. So I'm probably biased right now when I look for the "bunch of loud ignorant assholes" option.

Re: PETA
They love this "all or nothing" kind of argument. My cats are all rescues, since forever, so they would have been euthanized someone like me hadn't come along. I wonder if they'd complain about the quality of cat food I put out for the feral community here. I go through a large bag of dry and 60 cans each month on the deck. They'd probably say I should live outside and let the strays have the house.elettaria wrote:I had a huge argument with someone supposedly with PETA last week, telling me I'm enslaving my dogs and my cat by making them into domestic pets.
