I know what you mean. I was the same with Land of the Giants. A great show but after a while, you just knew it was never going to end. (I completely missed all of the McCarthy era witchhunt subtext at the time as well - I would love to watch a few episodes now - might go hunting for torrents...)

I've stuck with it but mostly out of habit. I hardly pay attention when it's on anymore. :dono:

I watched the first few series, but after that I just lost interest. I don't particularly like the constantly unfolding mystery format... unfortunately it's been replicated in other shows that I would otherwise appreciate... like Heroes. Maybe I'm being cynical, but the format seems to be there just to keep people hooked in the franchise.

It's totally lost on me. Watched a couple and just wasn't interested. So it's "meh" from me.

I used to love it. It got a bit silly in the last series, now I'm intrigued again and reserving judgement.
I'll be very disappointed if it all just one of Hurley's cheese-fuelled dreams.

Lost fell into the same trap that most American television show's fall into: Too many episodes, too much pointless filler and too dragged out, all to make some extra cash.

I think it is lazy garbage. The plot is clearly audience response led and the plotline panders to that. That is like Picasso painting by numbers.

The writers/producers said at least a couple of years ago that they always knew where it was going and there were always intended to be 6 series.

But I'll be extremely fucked off if it all ends up as a biblical analogy with the island being eden, Jacob being god and the smoke monster as the devil.

Not correct. They said originally it was going to be 3 series long. That's why I was so pissed off when they said they were going to extend it.

They said at the beginning that they already had the ending and it was locked in a safe somewhere.

As for whether it will be a Biblical analogy? I really don't care at this stage.

Saw season 1, got hooked, then bored when it ended with more open plotlines than Pirates of the Caribbean 2. So fuck off.

+1 The whole format and style are just to keep the viewer hooked to sell them ads IMO. They have absolutely no substance to them at all.
