You still have a lot of family etc, before you start grasping for lessor sorts, so Josh must be very important to him :dono:
Pederasty perhaps? :pardon: Puts a new spin on that essay where Dawkins railed against monogamy.

I don't think Josh is young enough for pederasty, but I know everyone has thought the same thing :naughty: , oh, don't any of ya'll deny it, it is too obvious a possibility to ignore.

Well, there isn't a concrete rule on what age ranges pederasty involves. I think it more aptly describes a sexualized mentor/apprentice relationship between an obviously older man and a much younger man. The age difference need merely be a stark one, because notions of what constitutes a "boy" and a "man" change over time. Considering Josh is a good 40 years Richard's junior, the label "pederasty" could arguably be applied. ;)

EDIT: I am making no moral judgment here, just having fun with speculation.

the way I read RD's

"I take full responsibility" :
I knew Josh sucks at PR.
In full this knowledge of this I left him in charge of the transition while on a tour anyways.

he apologised for that, end of drama (at least as far as I'm concerned)

of cause leaving Josh in charge once the new system is up is not going to help motivate people to provide content there.
* my (modified) emphasis ( or 'interpretation' )
the goldisch rule:
don't do, of which you don't want to be accused of doing.

when you chop off your neighbours head and use it as a vase, you can call it 'culture'.
it's called civilisation is when this gets you jailed for the rest of your live.

Err... it's an apology, but it does not take away the fact that he ought to have fully assess the situation prior to posting the "Outrage" letter. Not very fucking rational for a very fucking scientific man. That and the fact that he is still clearly out of touch, ie: Josh is still put on a pedestal. There are users both here and on the old RDF that could run the site far better then Josh has, is, and could do.

Thank you for showing a bit of maturity about the whole fiasco but, Richard, you sound like you're apologizing like a politician.

A few hundred years ago it was simply one of those things a Gentleman did. Though what happened then and what happens in modern day Afghanistan is a little different, which has nothing to do with the insinuated possible relationship between Josh and Richard, so I've just be leaving now...

Something I've been thinking about re: undesirable content for the Foundation; whatever happened to good old disclaimers?

This can't possibly be true.

(checks hardcover copy of The Greatest Show on Earth)

(reads publication and copyright page, facing the table of contents: "For Josh Timonen")

Fuck. It is true.

Better late than never!

I'd still like to achieve one further concession and get all those deleted posts back.
