How is your family taking your apostatization? Have you told them?
Oh, and well done on having rational thought.

Hi and thanks
Nah, haven't told them. I don't see a point really, wouldn't want to cause a rift between us. I imagine the irony being that even as an apostate, religion will once again manage to find a way to mess with my life. I'll just leave it in the corner like a pair of dirty socks.

Not really to be honest. I still feel weird about it. And the fear of hell was really indoctrinated in me. Funny thing is that I never thought about hell as a believer, and right after I apostatized I didn't think about it, but a few weeks later it came back.
Just remember Hell is where all the fun and parties will be..

Hi there, Blackdog.
Would you mind if we spilt the latter part of this discussion (about food-laws in religion) into the Religion & Atheism section? It is an interesting topic and it might get more responses there.

I would be honored

We can discuss the dietary laws of the three Abrahamic religions. I'm keen to learn more about Judaism and Christianity. With any "luck", I might even get to figure out where it all originated from or at least why the rules were created.
