C'amai From Alaska!

Post by piscator » Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:23 pm

undecided about my refugee status, since i was a veteran lurker at RDF but quite taken aback at the Timonen pogrom...
after hearing about rationalia in a quick post by Mr Samsa at RDF, i dropped by and am quite relieved and stoked to see that the bulk of the brain trust has made their way here to join a core group of accomplished rippers and riffers and form a critical mass

aside from a propensity to mix metaphors, i am a strong skeptic and rationalist from The Last Frontier, so please excuse my rough edges, a natural consequence of being both a bloody Yank from the hinterlands and a commercial fisherman

"C'amai" is an Alutiiq word that means something similar to 'Aloha', with a 'thanks' thrown in
i use it here to say hello and thank you to rationalia for not only being a great site on its own merits, but for having the tech savvy and infrastructure to support the influx of 'huddled masses yearning to breathe free'

cheers!

Sarah Palin? bless my sole! it frankly makes me a tad green about the gills to be caught i the same net as such a floundering nouveaufundy, was that a troll?
is something fishy going on here?

while i think we'll get along swimmingly, i think i'm over my depth and may be getting schooled...
but i'll take the bait and risk the odd harpoon to help stem the tide of negative perceptions Sarah has cast upon all Alaskans

hopefully i wont get canned in the process

Actually, I'm trying to scale back on the puns. I just float one over now and again. Bella complains that my puns make her feel icthy inside, anyway, but shoal get over it.
