You misunderstand. The 'action' (I assume, as I have a great deal of faith in our mods, despite fighting the mod system constantly!) was not taken to derail you. People here do not try to censor.

There was no reason for them to remove my post. It contained one violation of the rules (I called Kevin Ronayne a "pussbag"), which easily could have been edited out, and yet the whole substance would remain.

Is every post deleted which contains an insulting word, or is this yet another exhibition of the shameless double standards?

Salviati - this thread is about Josh Timonen and is in a subforum dedicated to discussing the recent RDF announcement. Many of us recall and might well agree with you on how Kevin Ronayne handled things when he was on the staff at RDF - but he is no longer a member of staff either at RDF or here, and hasn't wrought any further form of real upset at either location, so some of us move on and forgive, if not forget.

Your snotty little tu quoque jibes about Kevin or the rest of the membership at large (with whom you are clearly not familiar at all) are not particularly relevant in this thread, and should have been moved. If your only motive here is to attract negative attention, break rules, and plead the victim in it all - then you might just get some things to feel all victimised about from the forum.

If on the other hand you go for a nice cup of tea and come back when you've calmed down, and engage with us in some positive manner (constructive criticism is welcomed), then you might actually get some non-masochistic type of enjoyment out of it.

You have less than 10 posts under your belt and you are already hurling accusations and going on about stuff most of us don't have a clue about. Why don't you get to know us first? This is a great community.

Consider the chain of events. You made a post that attacked another member. I didn't know if you knew he was a member here or not. Instead of publicly admonishing you and leaving a rather embarrassing thread out there, I moved it and notified you privately. You know what the PM said, if was just a matter-of-fact notification of what I did and why. Then you started publicly carping about. I guess I was too nice from the start.

The Rationalia community opened its doors to the RDF community, and I think you'll find that if any effigy burning was going on, it was understandably being done by those who felt mistreated.
