Colonel Gaddafi calls for jihad against Switzerland

Funnily enough, the Swiss have been the hosts of the Americas Cup sailing Competition for the past two years.



Admittedly it has been held in Valencia, but there you go.

Not our fault if we keep winning.

I hope Switzerland treats this as an outright declaration of war. I don't know much about politics, but I can't help but think that the shit hits the fan when you declare war on the poster-child for neutrality without a proper casus belli.

We're laughing it off. Some of our more demagogic politicians already wanted to declare war some time ago, but they're the laughingstock of the Federal Council.
What I hope happens is that a bunch of would-be terrorists get their asses kicked by our police, triggering worldwide condemnation of Libya and the consequences of Jihad.

The rift, which threatens multi-billion-dollar investments in Libya, began when Swiss police arrested Gaddafi's youngest son Hannibal and his wife in July 2008, for allegedly assaulting two of their servants in a Geneva hotel. The couple denied the charges, which were quickly dropped, but the row continued. Offended by Swiss newspaper portrayals of his son, Gaddafi withdrew billions in Libyan funds from Swiss banks in July of last year, prompting the Swiss president to fly to Tripoli to apologize for the arrest.

Gaddafi was still not mollified. Last August, two Swiss businessmen were arrested in Tripoli for overstaying their visas. After a five-month standoff, one was allowed to leave Libya last week, while the second began a four-month prison term.

Seemes to be a diplomatic spat that has spun out of control. To my eye this has more to do with the Swiss not paying due deference to his loopyness than anything else (despite what his son says in the article).

The only bargaining chip the Swiss still have is their scary financial/gambling/traffic clout, as soon as the Libyan tanks cross the border they'll be done for speeding, the only power that the swiss still have is the power to govern their own roads. As a result of this they have become a bit overzealous and have instituted the death penalty for all those travelling above 10 KM per hour, especially when behind the wheel of an 80's Russian troop transporter.

They only have themselves to blame.
