Hi all
Just swum ashore from RDF. (Can someone put me on the muster roll?)
I was a member there for a couple of years, occasional poster. I don't know if I'll go back, I'm waiting for the dust (spray?) to settle. I didn't know of the meltdown until I saw PZ's post (which is why I came here as opposed to other possible sites) and I'm rather astounded at the way everything fell apart. I have my thoughts on the situation but will reserve judgment until RD makes his next move.
Speaking of RD, I'm looking forward to seeing him soon in Auckland as my brother kindly got me a spare ticket to his gig and the aftermatch. I'll not be asking him about this mess, just want him to sign my ancient Selfish Gene book which started me on the road to strong atheism proper.
About me: long time atheist and just becoming a stronger one as time goes by. Living in Auckland NZ with a wife, child, cat, another child on the way. I work in an organisation with a surprisingly high ratio of Xtains, compared to the general godlessness of the NZ population and when work is quiet (not too often) enjoy perusing and occasionally posting to sites like these. Am also a member under a different handle of AtheistNexus.
Looking forward to lots of fun on the new (for me) forum!

Atheists have always argued that this world is all that we have, and that our duty is to one another to make the very most and best of it. ~Christopher Hitchens~

Welcome Random. Many have swum here, and some are still in the water, and a few drowned unfortunately.
