I agree. Being an RDF member myself, I can understand all the disappointment and frustration, but there is no excuse for verbally running amok.
Josh's behaviour may have been inappropriate, brusque and even dishonest, and reproaching him for that is certainly a legitimate thing to do; but he doesn't deserve to be reduced to the status of a subhuman.

And how do you feel about the fact that Dawkins has directed insults towards his "apparent fans"?

Not just insults, blatant lies and quote mining. QUOTE MINING! FROM RICHARD DAWKINS! WTF?! Is the man's irony meter broken or something?

I realised as I pushed submit that I hadn't done a good job of wording that post, CG is trolling but the person Cali accused certainly wasn't.

Regardless, the insults are uncalled for, please tone it down! A flame war won't do anyone any good.

And don't write off the new forum because CG is spamming, it's nothing to do with him.

This is all I meant to say. I apologize, Cali.

Ah, Jack, you can't possibly expect the Great Unwashed to understand. He's a bleeding DON, fer chrissakes. Condescending, supercilious insults are their stock in trade.

We proles should learn something from the example set by our betters.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I love it when idiots try to take Cali on. I just have to face the fact that I enjoy the sight of stupid people getting battered.

I realise this makes me a bad person, but at least I can openly admit that failing.

on the contrary, I was hoping the angry mob would feck off there and take their scurrilous insults directed at richard/josh with them.

This place used to be a nice place up until this week.
Shit. Suddenly I feel terrible. Probably.

Please, folks. We are not helping anyone here. Keep it civil, please and stop with the accusations and the flaming. I of all know that emotions are currently rising high, but please accept that we are - for now - no more than guests here.
No Maz, you, I and everyone else with an account here are members in good standing. The only forum I am a member of that deals in atheism/science related issues is this one. And I don't consider myself here temporarily or a guest - and my new friends here have made it perfectly clear they don't consider me as a mere interloper (thanks for that guys!).

You know perfectly well what I meant. I feel welcome too(The way I see it, I'll stay here perhaps.), but that doesn't mean that I have to stir up more trouble for the kind people here then necessary.
