Well, I just had to comment in homeopathy thread. Comment #463599 by jayalink is, of course, the one wondering why there has to be at least one "I hate Josh" comment in every thread.

I wish it worked. I've got arthritis and most of the effective medicines make me bleed (I'm a hemophiliac too) so I've tried some of the homeopathic cures. None of them helped the arthritis whatsoever, although one does seem to have made me bleed.

Honestly characterizing Josh as hard-working on a meta scale is probably right. But Josh was clearly giving a nod now and then to the forum (not working hard). I'm certain it's difficult for Richard to see both sides of the story right now in light of the remarks he cited. But in the end I hope Richard can see the good sense to taking at least a middle ground.

Clearly a lot of dust needs to settle. I am sad that Richard took this stance. I am also sad that Josh doesn't find it necessary to make his own apologies for his knee-jerk reaction to a very real problem.

In light of the recent announcement regarding the new discussion site and format, and the eventual shutdown of this one I would like to take the time to express my warmest gratitude to all of the moderation staff, past and present.

Thankyou to all of you for helping to create such a thriving community. I understand the hard work you have all put, and the unquestioning dedication you all have, and do have, for this community.

I would request that everyone who also wishes to express their thanks for the staff to do so here and post their name(s) (doesn't have to be their real name) so that we can keep a rolling list of the members in the (most likely) vain hope that someone at the top takes notice and perhaps rethinks their decision regarding the future of the staff here.

Editorial control, mark you, by the person who, more than any other individual, has earned the right to the editor’s chair by founding the site in the first place, then maintaining its high standard by hard work and sheer talent.

Gimme a break, the constant technical failures had absolutely no role in attracting me to the board, nor did the "quality content" of pre-approved commentators. Looks like someone has no respect for the people who made the site what it is, nor any understanding of the reasons for the backlash on the site.
