Spearthrower, good to see you survived the great flood.
So when does operation bring down Josh Timonen Inc. begin?!
Yahoo email bomb anyone?

Can someone see if "The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science" on Facebook is accessible to them?
Mine won't load!

I think he's brought himself down; he just doesn't know it yet! But I am more than happy to give him a helping push.

Sorry, I had to read ALL previous posts in these announcement threads before I could make my first here!
Well, I am glad that so many people have maintained their links through this farce of a situation, and that people are still trying to get in contact with others. Thanks also to rationalia for being our
ark and saving 2 of every kind! <this is the kind of shit Josh has now inspired>. There's now a historical record of a global flood..... sorry Cali! This flood is one of authoritarian faeces sploshing out all over the globe and destroying testaments to rational and educational discourse, and all simply because of one man's piteous inability to take criticism.
From my perspective, the entire process literally happened overnight! I went to bed having read some interesting posts, I didn't reply as it was late. Early next morning, the forum was gone. What happened? From every source available, the only thing we can say with certainty is that Josh got to show off that he can pull the plug on thousands of people. I don't buy the explanation offered by some that he was simply unaware of the forum to such a large degree as this behaviour would permit- he knew very well how popular the forum was; we can at least expect him to know his job well enough to check statistics.
This was a crude exhibition of power, a barely evolved ape shaking its electronic tree.
Josh needs to be reminded about the problems of ultimate power like this. Especially in his role for the foundation.
Josh bear this in mind for your future career post-RDF....
The measure of your power does not lie in the number of people who are forced to bow to your personal authority, the measure of your power lies in the number of people who are obliged to
suffer your stupidity.
As such, you have indeed achieved a display of power and shown why you were not worthy to lead such a forum. What better way to deal with something you can't manage than to destroy it?
Rant over - thanks all!

You made it! I had a similar experience, went away for a couple of days and came back to find the forum gone. I posted a critical commentary on the Community section yesterday which was promptly taken down and now I have been disappeared from the forum; all 3,000+ posts gone (including my beloved archaeology posts) and membership rescinded. I am no more; I am defunct; I am an ex-Aspire.
All rights have to be voted on. That's how they become rights.

Can someone with Facebook please look up this group:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/grou ... 9507557464
Funnily, I can access it with my friend's account, but I can't access it with my account that I used to post my thoughts about this episode.
I have taken a screen capture of my post, and the group rules to show that I had not broken them.
Just in case, as it appears, I have been banned!

Can access the info page and the discussion by the wall will not work for me. Oddly you can still post about how atheism is a mental illness and on Dawkins three marriages so long as you do not mention the forum.

This is turning into a PR nightmare of epic proportions for Richard Dawkins.... now they are banning people from talking on their group in Facebook as well?
Stamping out dissent: 47% Complete
Can others who posted in "Betrayal" let us know if they can still see the group?

Hey, I can access the posts by looking up my own notifications, other than that though it looks like Joshtard is doing some handywork as the page seems to be down.

Hmmm - seems odd that on the same computer, with the same browser, I can log into FB with 2 different accounts and one gives access to the page, and the other doesn't. I tried it several times, my account won't open, my friend's will!

Is it just me?... or is all this deleting critical posts, banning people on the Facebook page, and EVERYTHING that has happened, smack of someone with some serious problem? Can any of the psych specialists out there address this? I mean, it's like paranoia taken to the n-th degree, like a kid with his finger on the button. It seems very very irrational....
I'm not defending Josh... I'm just saying it's majorly weird shit. Well - unless you're talking about a fundamentalist muslim dictator...

I think - therefore I am atheist
