I know that the question is a bit wistful, but it should be interesting.

I quit a long time ago, when feral OT was lost.

Yes, I'd go straight back and continue to bicker with SD and the others in Politics & Current Affairs.

But it's not going to happen.

Without a shadow of a doubt, RD.net is going to be very hard to let go of.

No. I got my account deleted and I wouldn't be willing to set up another one even if they publicly flogged Josh to tiny pieces.

I might have, if the asshole didn't delete all my posts from the entire forum.

I think I'll just lurk now though. Ratz is my new forum home. :td:

Ditto. Made the occasional post here and there after the smarting of being marginalised wore off, but never had a sense of true, gritty community friendship there afterward... it was too monitored and circumscribed compared to what it had been.

It had remarkable intelligence and resources for various topics, but the soul was beat out of it in the first purge (in my opinion, not reflective of anyone there).

I left that place over a year ago. During that split thing. I swore I'd never go back. Kept my word.

I really don't know. When Vets and OT were massacred, it had a great impact on me personally. I didn't want to cut off my nose to spite my face and I kept posting there, although the 'flow' was never the same again.

This time I see others, to whom the forum meant a great deal, who have been treated despicably. I don't know if I can forgive that.

No, unless Josh and Andrew were fired and people who respect the community were hired, and all users and posts that have been deleted were found and put back.

I will also not support the Foundation any more. I did give something to the fundraiser when they asked to, thinking that it would help, but after what they have done, and how they showed no respect for all of us, members and staff alike, I would not help the Foundation any more.

PS. Looking for a blogger template: 3 columns, dark, something on the gothic vampire side, not very intricate but elegant. If anyone knows of a template like the above PM me. Thanks.

I've been thinking about this as well. But does it help? Isn't the cause of RDF greater than our personal opinions?

It might be. But the way they handled the forum membership and staff showed that they have no respect for us. How can I support a foundation that does not respect the biggest part of its membership and supporters?

Sure. I don't post there because it particularly appeals to me. I need conflict, and if the new format does not allow discourse I require, I shall need to look elsewhere. I don't think anyone here will cherish any illusions about me being part of the community - that's not the kind of person I am, and although I feel that that means missing out on something, this is the only way this can function for me.. Becoming to involved in a community in the past interfered with my ability to demolish people in arguments, and I need that to function more than I need a social network. That's the reason I stayed at Richard Dawkins Forum and why I never really started posting here.

It was never because I did not like people here or some such thing, but because internet forums do not fulfil a role of social networking to me, but rather, a place where I can discuss philosophy and reason...
