Re: Announcement about RDF

Post by Babel » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:55 pm

I've been eating my hat reading the utter shite on rdf about the turnaround and not being able to react.
Then I noticed a cleverly hidden link to this cheese-infested lands (thanks hack), came here and STILL couldn't vent my utter disgust at the developments on RDF.
Anyway, thank you for the refuge, thanks for reading this rant and hope I can enjoy some of the warm hospitality here.

Oh, and I wanted to send PM's out to all mods on rdf to give them a heartfelt 'thank you' for their good work, but the shitass system wouldn't allow me to send out pm's.
So, to those who washed up here aswell, I'm sorry for what happened to you guys, but we'll make it better over here now.

Its all a little odd and I must admit I am pissed that I will now not get the personal validation that would of come had I cracked the 2000 post mark sometime next week. :lay:
Hi Lazar!
Thanks for the welcome. :td: I hope we don't mess up the place too much for the existing clientèle.

It now looks as if Darwinsbulldog has also been deleted. :(

What an absurdity, he has been a tireless and (he won't mind me saying) apolitical worker for RDF... :lay:

He has, just checked in E&NS where he had a lot of posts. Along with the thousand of his posts.

PS. Looking for a blogger template: 3 columns, dark, something on the gothic vampire side, not very intricate but elegant. If anyone knows of a template like the above PM me. Thanks.

Just as I was getting into the swing of things at RDF it gets shut down. I'm pretty fucking pissed. After joining up I found nothing but kind welcomes. The people over there were very nice and the discussion and debate was always fun. The handling of the situation by Josh and his cronies was completely disgusting. Their treatment of the moderators - without whom the forum would not have been as wildy successful as it was - is sickening. What really gets me angry is their deletion of accounts. This is exactly the kind of destruction of hostile ideas that Dawkins rebels against when conducted by religious organisations. I don't think you could possibly have a more apt situation to call someone a militant atheist.

I look forward to some good discussion on this site. From what I have seen it looks like a good group.

p.s. Josh Timonen is a useless cunt.
Goodbye RDF. We hardly knew ye.

I don't think there really is much left to be said but all I'm going to say is that I'm going to feel a little strange being surrounded by fellow ex-RDF members in the ratz lair...

Any Pied Pipers around here? Can we still use the "herding" expression?

I hope Josh Timonen's Soviet Oasis gets flooded with evangelicals. :Erasb:

How on Earth could any admin even consider this to be a smart move? This just defies logic. :nono:
