The RSC's Hamlet with David Tennant / Patrick Stewart. It was the best Hamlet I've ever seen. Actually, it's the first time I've ever enjoyed it!

It was very well done indeed. I wasted about 12 hours on the phone trying to get tickets for it - both at the RSC in Stratford and for the London performances. :(

I can't count the number of times I've seen...

Blade Runner. Love this movie.

I watched Bobcat Goldthwait's Shakes the Clown last night. It was okay, but I thought it'd be a lot better. Then I watched Cop Land, however, and liked that quite a lot. Full of great performances by Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, Robert DeNiro, Michael Rapaport, that dude from T2, and Sylvester Stallone. Yes, you heard right. Sylvester Stallone. Wish Sly would have made more films of this quality.

K-PAX was a great film. I don't really know what actually happened in the end, but it's a movie so anything is possible.
It's based on a series of books which I believe do answer the question although I have not read them.

Just watched Jackie Chan's The Legend of the Drunken master. Like a lot of Chinese films the story is all over the place and the slap-stick elements don't usually work but the kung-fu skills of Jackie are amazing as well as the complex choreography, insane stunts and fast action. Its well worth watching for the laugh. The fighting scenes are far funnier than the intentional comic parts.

I saw the Coneheads movie yesterday. It's been a long time since I watched that movie. Still love it. Very funny.

The Purple Rose of Cairo. Mia is so cute in that movie.

Just saw the latest Coen brothers release - A Serious Man.

Brilliantly casted (with complete unknowns for the most part) and full of those delightful character sketches that the Coens do so well. A film which is all about drawing a picture of a community and its interactions. Quite a bit happens along the way but ultimately, nothing much does - you are just left hanging, wondering what happened to all of these people next, helped no end by one of those trademark Coen Brothers' mid-air endings.

Don't watch this film if you want action, if you like being spoonfed the plot, if you don't like to think about what you are watching, or especially if you need everything explaining to you at the end and all the loose ends tidied up.

Do watch it if you appreciate the eccentricity of humanity and enjoy it being showcased by two of the masters of the art.

You ever wonder why he doesn't get an Oscar for choreography?

Do they do Oscars for that? I guess its because they would give such awards to American movies and not foreign ones?
His American ones never live up to the Chinese ones because he can't get the insurance to do they insane shit he does.

Apparently they don't. What's the Broadway version of the Oscars? :hehe:
