I thought it was frightfully boring as well. All that story getting in the way of things was quite tiresome
I actually watched about 90 minutes of it and didn't care enough to watch the rest..

Re: Avatar
There were cool things in Watchmen. Some things made me laugh, and some characters were pretty cool. But it was boring as hell. Some of the characters were total jokes. I couldn't take the batman wannabe seriously at all. It was worth seeing, and quite stylish, but I don't think I will ever watch it again. It's a shame because the parts that I thought were cool were very cool.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Probably split up because of his unreasonable behaviour.tattuchu wrote:That's pretty cool, husband and wife both up for awards at the same timeActually, I don't think Cameron is married to Kathryn Bigelow anymore, but still...
I don't blame him, though. I wouldn't have been able to resist calling her "Deuce" all the time either.

Re: Avatar
Ani, that review, by the way, was spot on
I think I'm gonna get Avatar when it comes out on DVD, though. Even though I didn't really care about the characters, the film is pretty to look at

Obviously. That's why it was unreasonable behaviour. She didn't know what the fuck he was on about.Animavore wrote:Except that film hadn't even existed yet when they divorcedDevogue wrote:Probably split up because of his unreasonable behaviour.tattuchu wrote:That's pretty cool, husband and wife both up for awards at the same timeActually, I don't think Cameron is married to Kathryn Bigelow anymore, but still...

Re: Avatar
It won't - it's far too depressing to win anything other than Best Supporting Actress which it is guaranteed. Best Picture is between Locker & Avatar. Director (if the academy can get over their male bias) is Bigelow's.Animavore wrote:"Precious" will get best film
Bridges is a certainty for Best Actor.
Best Actress is a out and out fight between Meryl and Bullock.
Best Supporting Actors is the most open category - Plummer is an old favourite so may get the sentimental vote, Waltz gives a fantastic performance as does Tucci and Damon is a pretty popular and well regarded actor in Hollywood.. that category hard to call.
Avatar will win big in the technical awards of course.
Not sure about Best Score although I think Horner's score is very impressive.
Up will win Best animated film.
Cinematography I couldn't call..
Re: Avatar
That maybe so (I haven't seen it) but the Academy are politically predictable. A black film about black issues made by a black man. I reckon its a strong contender to win.Elessarina wrote:It won't - it's far too depressing to win anything other than Best Supporting Actress which it is guaranteed.
