In Germany they once experimented with showing a movie on 2 channels, one channel with the pov from the one character, one from the pov from another character. Both synchronized so you could switch between them.
It was quite interesting to see, but became confusing quite quickly. This might have been 15-20 years ago.

I would disagree with that from a personal perspective there are very few films I have considered to be unwatchable or really disliked. I think there are some movies that can be watched once and you never want to see again without it being a reflection on the quality of the film.. if there is a twist for example that once you know spoils further enjoyment of the movie.. or a harrowing movie perhaps?Gawdzilla wrote:I've seen a few movies more than once.If they're not worth a second look I probably shouldn't have wasted time the first run through.
Re: Avatar
War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Again, The Sixth Sense and Dude. Where's My Car are all films I walked out on. One of those films (IJATKOTCS) actually enraged me to the point I was visibly shaking. Dark Knight and Transformers 2 I would've walked out on but I kept waiting for them to get better.Elessarina wrote:I would disagree with that from a personal perspective there are very few films I have considered to be unwatchable or really disliked. I'm sure if you put your mind to it you could think of some films that you think are terrible.

I've walked out on a lot of films. If I catch myself checking my watch more than once that's a big clue that I'm ready to leave.Animavore wrote:War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Again, The Sixth Sense and Dude. Yeah. Or if one starts getting angry like I did with Indiana. I couldn't believe what they did to him. That infamous South Park episode ended up being therapy for me.Gawdzilla wrote:I've walked out on a lot of films. I usually go into another film because I hate leaving after paying for a ticket.

I honestly never thought of doing that. If I'm antsy enough to leave I'm not in the mood for trying another movie.I usually go into another film because I hate leaving after paying for a ticket.

I went to a sneak preview, where they had the rule that if you don't like the film at all you can go to one of the other halls provided they had space left. That way I ended up seeing Lola Rennt (English title: Run Lola Run) for the first time.Gawdzilla wrote:Linky?Animavore wrote:Yeah. Or if one starts getting angry like I did with Indiana. That's another thing. The premise has to appeal to me. Lola? Who cares if her BFF gets wasted?leo-rcc wrote:I went to a sneak preview, where they had the rule that if you don't like the film at all you can go to one of the other halls provided they had space left. I usually see two films when I go to the cinema. After 10 years of this I have never been caught. I just do it so casually.leo-rcc wrote:I went to a sneak preview, where they had the rule that if you don't like the film at all you can go to one of the other halls provided they had space left. I have never walked out of a film. Although The Thin Red Line made me feel like I wanted to shoot myself at the time.Animavore wrote:

Indiana Jones ATKOTCS I thought was terrible. I tried to watch Dragnet once and could not watch all of it.

Re: Avatar
Only two movies I've ever walked out on that I recall. Ullee's Gold (truly horrible, I hated every second of that movie) and Finding Neverland (either I wasn't in the mood or similar, but I was so bored I just walked out and went for a drink).

The only film I've ever walked out on was Natural Born Killers. What a pile of excrement that was.
