I saw it today, in Italian. The theater was empty, but maybe that was just because of the time.
Anyway, the story sucked balls (I shouldn't be able to predict with 100% accuracy what's going to happen- even the trite deus ex machina), the acting was boring as fuck (Sigourney Weaver, how could you!), but the effects were fucking amazing. Well, really nice. Enjoyable. Cool.

I wouldn't be able to watch it again, but I guess it was ok. Meh.

Apparently this is going to be his next film using Avatar technology so it looks like it'll be a while before the second Avatar movie.

The English title is Battle Angel. That will be the title of Cameron's film.

James Cameron Planning an Avatar Trilogy

Once Avatar started setting box office records, it was inevitable talk of a sequel would emerge. The science fiction epic is up to $1.4 billion worldwide (just $400 million shy of Titanic), and this weekend it will pass Star Wars to become the third highest-grossing movie of all-time at the domestic box office.

Rumors of a second adventure on Pandora circulated until James Cameron himself attended a Variety-hosted screening and Q&A in Hollywood. The director confirmed “there’ll be another” and said the plan was always to make a trilogy of films, according to an account on Ain’t It Cool News.

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly confirmed the trilogy concept with a quote from Cameron. “I’ve had a storyline in mind from the start — there are even scenes in Avatar that I kept in because they lead to the sequel,” Cameron said. “It just makes sense to think »

He has been toying with Battle Angel for years almost as long as Avatar. It's 50/50 which will be next

Good lord. If Cameron makes Battle Angel Alita into a film, I would join El and we would take turns sucking his dick. And we would fight over who gets to swallow his load

p.s. I see that Yukito Kishiro, the author of the comics, is co-writing the script. This is good news, since Cameron seems to be a great director but a poor writer. Between the two of them, then, this will be one kick-ass fucking film.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Yep.. tbh I can't believe Kathryn didn't win best director. I am not sure whether this makes it more certain she will win the Oscar or puts it in doubt... :?

I wouldn't be surprised at all though if Avatar scoops Best Picture at the oscars it has gone down very well with academy members from all accounts and this Globe win is a good indicator. I would like to see Kathryn win best director though.

Bigelow for The Hurt Locker.

I was a bit surprised Avatar took Best Picture. I was thinking Up In the Air or Precious would take it.

I found Up in the Air incredibly disappointing certainly nowhere near as good as I expected. Prescious - ugh well Precious is just awful -I don't mean the film itself or production is awful I mean the subject matter... hard to watch

The only thing from 2009 deserving an award is No Country For Old Men. Gneh.
