It only applies to Malay muslims - about half of the population. However, what it fails to mention is that being born into a muslim family automatically qualifies you as a muslim. Of course, you can always abandon that faith later in life... if being ostracised from your family, community and friends, with a very real danger of being stoned to death is uyour idea of fun!! Better to take the risk of 2 years in stir for a dirty weekend!
