Tom baker was an over-acting twat! David Tennant brings intelligence, pathos and humanity to the part!

Never heard of the program.

As I said on the other thread. Tom Baker was my fave until David Tennant.
It's the non-serious attitude they both have.
BTW, I've met Sophie Aldridge (Ace) in Germany. She was a childrens TV presenter for BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service)

Re: Who's the best Doctor?
Difficult for me. I've only seen the full series with Eccelstone and Tennant, and only a few episodes with Tom Baker and Peter Davidson. So compared to them I think Tennant wins for me but that is partly due to me not remembering the older ones very well. I really liked Tom Baker and Peter Davidson too though. The whole Dr. Who series is beyond brilliant.

Re: Who's the best Doctor?
I haven't watched the new doctors so I don't have all the info I guess. I grew up with Tom Baker as the Doctor and it may just be nostalgia but I think he'll always be my favourite.

I think that's pretty much it with me... I've not actually seen the Tom Baker episodes since.littlebitofnonsense wrote:I haven't watched the new doctors so I don't have all the info I guess. To me, Peter Davidson will always be Tristan Farnon from the TV series adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small. But that might be partly because I never saw an episode of Dr. Who until quite recently.leo-rcc wrote:Difficult for me. Re: Who's the best Doctor?
That is really the point isn't it? We cannot judge the performance of Davidson as the doctor when the last time we saw it was 20 years ago, compared to Tennant's performance that we saw 1 hour ago.klr wrote:To me, Peter Davidson will always be Tristan Farnon from the TV series adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small. Re: Who's the best Doctor?
David Tennant knocked Tom Baker from the top spot in my eyes. He managed to make even the most preposterous tosh believable and i will never forget the habit he had of saying, "Oh! You are magnificent!" whenever he came across some bloodthirsty alien with hungry eyes and a million teeth!
BTW, not that anyone is likely to vote for him, but you missed Peter Cushing in the poll - he played the Doctor in two pretty naff feature films in the 60s.
