Seriously. WTF?
I can understand best special effects or best cinematography but Best Motion Picture? If they were gonna put a sci-fi movie on the list District 9 should've been there.
And Antichrist isn't even on the list. Sceptic about Inglorious Basterds too but I haven't yet seen it so I'll suspend judgement.
That's a bit of a stretch innit?Golden Globes.
Best Motion Picture - Drama
Nominees:
Avatar (2009)
The Hurt Locker (2008)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire (2009)
Up in the Air (2009/I)

You didn't see Wickus was going to be a "good guy" in the end during the opening credits?Animavore wrote:Gawdzilla wrote:Just watched District 9 and I wasn't that impressed with it.Animavore wrote:Seriously. WTF?

Well of course it was obvious. Didn't stop the film from being enjoyable.Gawdzilla wrote: You didn't see Wickus was going to be a "good guy" in the end during the opening credits?

It had the same plot problems as Avatar, humans being dicks to aliens.Animavore wrote:Well of course it was obvious. Didn't stop the film from being enjoyable.Gawdzilla wrote: You didn't see Wickus was going to be a "good guy" in the end during the opening credits?
Re: Avatar
Yeah but it was just done better. I'm not saying its good enough to warrant a best motion picture either. Looking through those other nominees on the net I wouldn't say any of the others are either. These awards are getting even more commercial than ever. They really like clapping themselves on the back over at Hollywood. As usual the more prominent films of the year are getting awards while the real gems are no where to be found on the list.Gawdzilla wrote:It had the same plot problems as Avatar, humans being dicks to aliens.Animavore wrote:Well of course it was obvious. Re: Avatar
I'm more pissed off about commercial films getting the awards than the really good ones, its not just merely Avatar its the whole thing. Although that has been the way for as long as I remember being into films. Anyone remember Forrest Gump winning over Shawshank Redemption and Pilp Fiction.
