Re: For History fans / Strategy gamers
This shot shows our historically accurate Spartans (and some other dudes who aren't Spartans).

Spartans of the period (around the Greco-Persian Wars and the Peloponnesian Wars) painted their shields with battalion emblems that represented the region of Spartan territory they were from. The "gorgon" face meant that you lived in Sparta proper. The "sun ray" shield represented the rays of Apollo and was the shield design for Spartan kings (the Particular king in this shot is Leonidas). The two dudes standing next to Leonidas are Olympic champions (notice the wreaths around their helmets), whose shield emblems are sacred to Sparta's state religion.
The purple dude on the right side with the Owl shield emblem is Themistokles, another Hellene hero you can train in the game. The dudes at the bottom in blue are Republican-era Romans.
Normally in the game one would not zoom in this far, but I just wanted to show the level of detail we're aiming for.
I think the main units for Huns would be cavalry. They'd definitely get a raiding and archery bonus.

I'm curious how hero abilities/benefits would work.

Some heroes will gift a benefit by simply living, but most will have an "aura" or a radius around them that grants their bonus to other soldiers around them (or to whatever entities their abilities effect).born-again-atheist wrote:I'm curious how hero abilities/benefits would work.

The benefits depend on how many kids you have. The abilities depend on where you're from. Like real life.born-again-atheist wrote:I'm curious how hero abilities/benefits would work.

Do you have to build/train them? Or do they 'come with the era'?

Well, the hero has his aura from the moment he is trained from the fortress.born-again-atheist wrote:Do you have to build/train them? Or do they 'come with the era'?
