Hmm...not very encouraging, but it does raise a question I have wondered about and that is why E.R. Burroughs stories, other than Tarzan, haven't been turned into films. I can't think of any off-hand.

I suppose it was an estate issue? Or he could have not liked the state of the FX in the 20s and 30s and gave instruction that the B.E.M.s had to be better before they did them. Now that the copyright has lapsed, however . . .

Will struggle in terms of 'realism'. Mars is just about credible one way and another, but then there was Carson of Venus, and Pelucidar - the inside, 'lining' of the earth world..and a number of others. They would have to be couched in terms of high fantasy I think to stand a chance of working.

Yeah, LOTR was internally consistent, so it was "real" in a way Pelucidar wasn't. It took me a year to get sick of E.R.B.

So what do they screw up next? Gor?

The PC version of Gor would be a very short film. :tea:
