Monday or Tuesday, most likely. I want to see it again on the big screen in 3D. They'll never get that effect on the TV.

Thanks. But I would feel too guilty to accept. :hugs: :flowers:

It's only a cinema ticket!
I'll be going to see it with a couple of mates in Jan, after the kids go back to prison school. Thanks for the offer - much appreciated but I'd rather get there under my own steam if I can. :flowers:

Fair enough XC, I just didn't want you to miss out on seeing it in the cinema in 3D for the sake of £8.. it could always be a a loan.. the offer still stands :)

Okay I've seen it. Let me just say three things:

1) Amazing special effects. The technology is getting to the point where we may be in the process of passing the uncanny valley. That's freaking crazy!

2) As far as quality goes, I have to say that the accusations I had heard of it being a cliche derivative work are false. It is not not a nock-off of Dances with Wolves. It's of the calibre to define the archetype.

3) It was the most heavy handed load of Gaia worship theology propaganda I have seen in some time. I feel about this movie the way one might feel about the star player of a rival team. You respect their skill, but you're hoping they get their ass handed to them.

Regarding the forces deployed to protect the mining operations, see if you can guess what I'm thinking.

But I don't mind that because with Pandora it is tangible and real and I think Cameron's intention is pure and non-theological.

A friend of mine in the French Foreign Legion got offered a job off them (apparently they nick most of their crew from the FFL). He declined though because he hates the cunts.

Premptive attack, fighting terror with terror, they can fix your spine if you've got the money, but not on vet benefits, we killed our mother, the dying exclamation that [God] was real , the portrayal of the military, the portrayal of capitalism. The emphasis on loyalty with continued use of the idea of life long bonding. The promise of some biologically sustained permenance in existence through oneness with the planet. I could go on, but wow, Star Wars accidently made a religion for uber geeks. This is meant to make a religion. That's it's direct goal.
Just my opinion of course.
