Movie moments you've remembered for years.

Post by Gawdzilla Sama » Mon Nov 30, 2009 2:57 pm

One of my permanent memories is of the 7th Cavalry charging across Monument Valley in line abreast, sabers out and the band playing Gerry Owen. I can't remember the name of the movie, but here's the 7th's marching song. (From "Roughriders", embarking for Cuba in 1898.)

Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

This won't touch but a couple of people here, but here it is, anyway:

"A philosopher is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. A theologian is the man who finds it." ~ H. L. Mencken

"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."

"It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while the wolf remains of a different opinion."

There's a scene from this film "Hell Comes to Frogtown" that I've remembered for years.
At the end of this trailer when Sam Hell busrtsn in and says "Eat lead, Froggies!" :funny: It just makes me laugh. :dono:

There are so many to choose from, but right now I am thinking of the moment when Charlie Bucket gives back the "ever-lasting-gob-stopper." A desperate and confused boy does what's right. He redeems himself for his infraction and he is pure again. It's almost religious, but in a humanistic way. This can be a sick, sad world at times. Goodness ,or, appropriateness) should be fostered and applauded when employed. Of course, I know the world is not at all like this, but it should be.
