It has ever been thus. George Orwell would have been proud. :levi:

Assistant manager Marco Tardelli has just been interviewed on Irish TV. Now there was a man who knew how to celebrate a goal ... :coffee:

EDIT: Don't even talk to me about the FIFA decision to change the rules on the play-off draw mid-stream to suit the big countries.
I really should not have read that link.

Don't ever bother reading FIFA reports, for this very reason. The officials never make a wrong or even questionable decision in FIFA's alternative reality. If France had been incorrectly denied a penalty, it wouldn't have mentioned that either.

I recommend that the Irish Ambassador deliver a note to Sarkozy, informing the French that, unless the FIFA decision is rescinded by 11am today, a state of war will exist between your two nations. Should that terrible state of affairs come to pass, I would anticipate a French surrender by about 11:01.

Good luck!

Somebody from the FAI was on the radio calling on FIFA for a replay. They have also officially asked the French FA to accede to a replay unilaterally. Can't see either happening myself.

It's fucking pathetic that the FAI are being so undignified.

Get up off your knees and let the frog cunts have their stupid fucking World Cup if it means that much to them.

Even if they win it they'll still talk like poofs.

They have to do it as a matter of course, just to show up FIFA and the dastardly Frogs.

Some day (hopefully at some crucial moment next year) the French will be on the wrong end of a similar injustice. Then we shall have our schadenfreude, especially as Platini, Blatter and co. would squirm, knowing they can't say or do anything without being called complete hypocrites. :plot:

Small comfort for those Irish players who shall not have the opportunity to play in another world cup, still it's good that most French players and commentators are ashamed of getting to the WC like that, must say I'm very dissapointed with Henry for passing the buck to the ref. It's like saying "yeah I did rob your house, but the police didn't catch me so it's their fault". FIFA will do fuck all, which seems to be their job description.
At least I'm housebroken.
