Which is all that's

Cameron belongs to a group within the Tory party called 'Conservative Way Forward', which is a
Thatcherite group which is headed by the old bitch herself!!!
I just did a google and yes HBM is right infact the website says on the front banner "keep the spirit of 1979 alive" with a picture of the old bitch for good measure and David Cameron also there.

You never know, their rule might be short as it might be the death of them. It's happened to Labour, although their time in office can hardly be called short.
It took serfdom to inspire the last great uprising in this country, so unless the Tories really are going to go all out and take us back to medieval England, we're not going to see any major revolutionary radicals popping up in great numbers or guillotines outside the palaces.
Read your history. We're the least revolutionary country in Europe, partly because the last time a majority of people had balls it was 1381 and partly because the political establishment are excellent (and have been for centuries) at providing enough reform to placate the average person but never provide enough reform to genuinely change anything. Whigs and Tories, Labour and Conservative, and a castrated populace grumbling about the weather and how it's the PM's fault. The record never changes.
So you wouldn't count that little tiff with Oliver Cromwell as an uprising?

Am I really the only one here who finds the theme of this thread grossly inappropriate? I take our democratic freedoms very seriously, and this is very disturbing. If ANYTHING should be reportable, then this should. I cannot believe you are all cheerleading for such an unacceptable theme by letting this thread go on. And no, you can't write this off as just 'tongue in cheek'. This is far worse than any sort of jokes, even. If no action is taken on this then I will start a thread about it in in-depth discussion.

I gather you're referring to the thread title, MONF? I don't see anyone cheerleading either that or the thread itself. I think the OP, with the inclusion of the

smiley belies the "seriously", and is pretty adequate indication that the title is intentionally hyperbolic, and HBM is deliberately exaggerating his point, not as a real threat but to convey his depth of feeling about this political issue.
However, if anyone here actually dies as a result of voting Tory, we'll all know where to look. Seriously.

That was pretty much the strategy of the KDP (Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands) during the Weimar Republic. By encouraging their followers to vote for the conservative party rather than the SDP (Sozialdemokratische Partei) they hoped to catalyse a backlash where they'd eventually win themselves. It didn't work out as hoped. Their strategy enabled the NSDAP (aka NAZI party) to sneak their way into the chancellorship.

It's hilarious. You guys actually have political parties.
Here we've got the extreme conservatives or the strong conservatives.
