XC, yes. I am a UKIP man.
UKIP is nothing but BNP-lite. Sorry DSI, nothing personal - I know you are a decent bloke personally, but they are a single-issue pressure group masquerading as a political party. Their literature is skewed, duplicitous and stuffed full of emotive rhetoric. Their ideas are half-formed and driven by a deep-rooted distrust and hatred of anyone that isn't 'British' as they define it.

I wouldn't wipe my arse on them.

I beg to differ. Nick Griffin wanted an alliance to fight against the EU, Nigel Farage refused point blank any co-op of any kind. Even hHE can see what the BNP are.
UKIP is NOT anti-immigration, anti-whatever.
When it comes to immigration they want it to be managed better, and not have an open door policy.
If I went to live in any other EU state I would be expected to be self-reliant. I wouldn't be a burden to their welfare state nor to their social housing system.
It would be expected of me to find a job (like many immigrants do when they come here) then contribute to their economy.
UKIP would also put an end to the health tourism that is going on, saving the NHS a fortune.

I'm gonna stop writing anymore on this topic. I'm sounding like a Daily Mail reader. :nono:

You do a bit. :hehe:

Sorry. The fact is that UKIP would only lose support by an alliance with the BNP. Political expedience is always the first motivation I look for in the actions of any politician. Besides, wasn't it an UKIP member that proposed that alliance? (Just looked - yes, it was Buster Mottram. A former tennis player with extreme right-wing views that has been associated with the NF, BNP and UKIP over the years. I believe he was expelled from the party afterwards.)

No, this was just before the recent EU election. BNP won their first 2 seats in the EU parlament. TAn allience would only have boosted UKIP.

Now tell me. Why has there been so much support for the BNP and UKIP recently?
Why would a rational thinker like myself want to vote for UKIP?
What's more, in the last local election, (due to the absense of a UKIP Candidate) I felt the need to put my "X" on the BNP box?
I am not a racists. I abhor racism.... And fascism.
I had a choice...
Lab
Con
Lib
Green
BNP

Why did I feel as though I had to vote for a fascist, rascist bunch of knuckle draggers, rather than those tree hugging hippies and the other self centered, hypocrytical, snouts in the trough, PIGS?

I can't say why. I only know that I don't share your views despite living in the same country and suffering greatly at present by the economic crisis. I don't blame any of my troubles on the EU or immigration.

I am not a huge fan of politicians of any stripe but I would sooner be governed by a largely centrist party than any kind of radical. We have all seen what happens when such parties gain power.

I think deep down we do share the same views. Equality and fairness and freedom.
I'll tell you why. Under NU labour and within the EU, I do not feel as though this is true. I don't really want BNP to rule this country. It was a protest vote.
For the BNP to win 2 seats in the EU, I felt was a BIG wake-up call for the top 3.
People have had enough. We want to be responsible for our own actions. Labour have taken that away from us.
I had to deliver to a leisure center yesterday. It was opposite a school. It was my lunch time. I had to drive for another 15 minutes to find a layby away from anywhere, instead of using the leisure center's car park, because I am being made to feel I am a peadophile if I parked there instead. I don't want that! I am guilty until proven I'm just a delivery driver.

Sorry, 1 and a half bottles of wine later, I know this was going somewhere but I forgot. :td:

Sorry, 1 and a half bottles of wine later, I know this was going somewhere but I forgot. :td:
People have always had enough - of everything - that is the nature of people - never satisfied and love to grumble. What is wrong is to blame your frustrations on any one source - like the EU, or immigrants - the picture is far wider than that. I happen to believe that we gain more from the EU than we lose. I don't claim that it is perfect - it can't possibly be - it is a huge sprawling bureaucracy - such beasts are inevitably wasteful, mismanaged and full of internal squabbles. But it does give its members - Britain included - a far greater say on the world stage than they would otherwise have, especially in matters of trade. UKIP would replace that with a rosy dream of an independent Britain standing against the world like we did in the blitz - fuck that - I'm not buying - I can smell bullshit no matter how it's packaged.

We have to stop wasting billions on Eurocracy, and bring in our own bill of rights which suit our needs. Take back our waters, and encourage more of our own manufacturing and farming.
Stupid EU regulations mean that our farms are throwing away millions of ton of good food every year! That is never right!
I could go on.

I firmly believe he EU is bad for Britain.
Soo - I see you have a well thought through intellectually rigorous evidence based take on our political situation then. :hilarious:

You do realize that you are using a 5 years old report that uses inaccurate data already 2 years old at the time it was written, don't you?
