Re: The state of the planet
OK, so we're all going to die. Not exactly breaking news, is it? Species have been evolving and going extinct for a couple of billion years on this spinning rock. We won't be missed. I imagine the rest of the life forms will be only too happy to see us go.
That said, my hobbies include reducing my carbon footprint as much as possible. Meh. A hobby is a hobby.

Re: The state of the planet
Imagine we are the only 'intelligent' creatures in the galaxy - or over a couple or more. The sheer number of stars and galaxies are so huge that even if evolved life is very rare it almost certainly has or does exist somewhere. It is possible I think having read the arguments over and over again that the next example of anythign remotely like us is a teerribly long way off in time as well as space.
And imagine if we die out over the next couple of centuries or less. Nobody would miss us but it would be so terribly poignant.

I thought I'd seen that before. I wonder what it's like now.

Sorry, but that's a contradiction, isn't it? To whom would it be so terribly poignant?Rumertron wrote:Nobody would miss us but it would be so terribly poignant.

Yes, but I do find you all quite amusing.Gawdzilla wrote:Human is a plague on the face of the Earth.
It's funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.
