Damned incompetent pirates. Back to ship recognition class for you lot.CJ wrote:Pirates hit navy ship 'in error'BBC wrote:A group of Somali pirates has been captured after attacking a French navy ship by mistake, apparently thinking it was a harmless cargo vessel.

EDIT: OK, I watched the video, and it was a supply vessel they attacked, not a warship. Still a major cock-up though. And apparently they did try to attack a French frigate earlier in the year. Mon Dieu!

At least they have a proper aircraft carrier right now.CJ wrote:In particular their aircraft carrier which continually breaks down
And guess where the Royal Navy's new carriers are going to be built?

EDIT: Actually, the ships will be assembled in Rosyth, but from sections built elsewhere, including (possibly) France. IIRC, it was a French-led consortium that won the contract to build them.

The bastards also got the contract for the Queen Mary 2, just ahead of Harland & Wolff here in Belfast.

These carriers look very vulnerable to me, especially as the UK is basically broke.

The troops on the supply ship were regular navy if the Frog Fleet is anything like the USN, so the Somalis were outclassed from square one. They brought a knife to a gun fight.
