He must be, catholic Ireland died with Glenroe.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

So how is your education going? What is your latest theist horror story from The Emerald Isle?

Ah I miss the dawks! Good times : )

School is brilliant - well apart from the whole Leaving Cert in June thing.
Doing every science possible, + history, and they're all so interesting. European history especially.
I'm in the middle of applying for a Computer Science course at a University in Dublin, and at a couple of Uni's in the UK. So it's all good

The weirdest thing is, barely any of my class is religious. Maybe it's because I go to a fairly small, international school, but there's only a couple of people that show any interest in religion at all. Most are agnostic, maybe three or four other atheists. There is one creationist - biology is...interesting with him. Ripped up the worksheet on evolution and Darwin. And one guy who told me his aim is to convert me by the end of the year. But really, the image the rest of the world has of Ireland - which, at least where I was from, was of a very religious society - just isn't accurate at all.
Although religion is compulsory, our teacher is absolutely hopeless. Bit of a gullible fool. Lessons are normally spent laughing and making fun of whatever new-age crap he's buying into this week.

Did you all laugh at him when he ripped up his Darwin thingy?

I would've laughed in his face.

Great to see you are enjoying your education, don't spoil it by spending too much time here :hehe: I would have loved to have seen the kid tearing up the work sheet. What did the teacher do?

Hi Fifi!

I got your sign up email earlier and immediately wondered if it was you. Glad you arrived.
