Should Roman Polanski be extradited?

What do you think should happen with Roman Polanski? Should he be pardoned, or should he be extradited to California to face more criminal charges?

I've not seen more than the headlines on the news. But I'd say it's fair that he gets extradited (under a valid treaty) and faces trial for his alleged crime. If he's innocent then he can go home again. Just because it was a long time ago, it doesn't mean it should be any different.

Apparently the girl in question has no interest in testifying so unless they have something else to pin on him I can't see how they can get anywhere with this.

As far as I know he escaped to avoid a longer jail sentence that his celebrity judge and media whore was trying to pin on him, despite having done jail time already and settled with the victim after pleading guilty in court.

I really don't understand why so many people are so willing to defend him. Child rape is one of those things where people should just be taken out back and shot. No one is above the law.
