They're small, they're slow, they're ugly. What's not to pick on?

Actually, we're all like the race car driver who has to choose between the lawn mower, the ice cream truck or the double-decker bus. "None of the above" is the best choice, but it's not an option.

I actually would prefer to be using Ubuntu on ideological grounds but I'm too used to everything being so fantastically easy to do and perfect on the Mac. I do hate their evil-empire-like restrictions though, the bastardos! It saddens me that they do that (and their patent enforcements - though that's necessary for any big corp. nowadays unfortunately).

Having run Macs and PCs side-by-side at Purdue for years I really don't see how one is better than the other overall. The one exception to that would the learning curve. PCs need better ways of getting the information into the users hands when there is an issue. Once you know how to do something it's pretty much a toss between doing it on either one. (Yes, I think the relative virtues of both systems are exaggerated.)

I find that on a PC (which I've used for a lot longer than mac), if I want to change some system settings that are ever so slightly less common than say, network settings, I have to really dig around and nothing is usually where I expect it to be at all. On the mac, I can always find stuff immediately. The gui is very well designed from a usability perspective. Also, the applications work in identical ways, no surprises from one to the other, and they often interact well with each other too. On top of that I have a *nix under the hood that I can do anything I want with.

I had the joy of working with a 286 PC AND working with (bleeps) at the Supercomputer Center, North Island, California. The contrast was agonizing at times as I tried to get the PC to do things they still can't do. Then they make it even worse by hooking the PC into NCIC.

Mac should be significantly better than PC.
Why else would anyone pay 2-3 times as much for one?
Hell, for about 100 bucks more than an iMac, you can buy an Alienware computer (top of the line gaming computer if you're not familiar with it).
I can spend under $500 for a PC, or I can spend over $1000 for an iMac.
P1: I am a nobody.
P2: Nobody is perfect.
C: Therefore, I am perfect

Mac Vs Vista..... Mac "wins"
Snow Lep Vs Win 7. Not as cut and dry.
I use both. I really REALLY like Windows 7. (Or more probably, Windows 7 is like not hitting yourself in the face, constantly. Like the "Vista" experience is.)

What problems did you have with Vista that frustrated you?

Yep, "Mac Vs. Vista" is not a like-with-like comparison ...
Does Snow Leopard have anything to match Windows Powershell?

Let's see... there's nothing "fatal" but:
Performance in file handling.
Lack of Bluetooth stack.
Crash handling.
Boot up time.
Resource allocation.
Resource footprint.
File sharing security.
... there are more, but they are fairly minor. Most of these seem to have been fixed in 7.

Don't think so.
As a business OS, 7 Enterprise rocks. (and powershell 2.0 is comparatively easy to use.)
