Secondly, it's the UNSC. Wtf kinda enforcement can we expect? A strongly-worded statement threatening further meetings concerning possible future voting on a proposal to issue a statement of ideological uncomfortable-ness with Iran/N. Korea's continued buildup of nuclear arsenals?

Sorry. I'm behind Obama all the way, but this story looks like too much of a mis-direction or a buildup for an upcoming revelation. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Today. :dono:

Isn't that what I just said? Or did I say the opposite? Shit, now I'm confused. Won't someone tell me what my opinion is?

Or the older version: When I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you.

I agree. There has been some 'news management'. The coincidence of Russia agreeing to support the rest of the world in opposing Iran's ambitions, the offer to cut a trident sub in the UK, Obama's announcement and then lo and behold Iran announce a new reactor capable of enriching weapons grade material.

All a bit too neat - and I am not one prone to conspiracy theories. They all knew about Iran long before the news media did.

I don't cotton to the tinfoil hat crowd, either, but I've been noticing this 'news management' thing for a few years now. Sometimes the best way to get the real news is to go to the small-time, local media who aren't in the loop with the big-timers. I can tell you from first-hand experience, the news I get here about N. Korea isn't always the same news that the rest of the world gets from CNN, BBC, Fox, etc.

To wit: http://english.chosun.com/site/data/htm ... 00395.html

Trivial news, ya think? Compared to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8274602.stm?

The UN Security Council has unanimously adopted a resolution calling for nuclear disarmament, in a session chaired by US President Barack Obama.
Wow. I say WOW! Does this mean Israel, Pakistan, and India will dismantle and junk their nuclear warheads? And Russia, the USA, China, France and the UK will do likewise? Uhm...

I think the key phrase is this:
The resolution calls for further efforts to stop the spread of nuclear arms
That will help justify bombing the living daylights out of Iran and North Korea when the opportunity arises.

If they don't one day someone will use them. If it is relatively limited that will end the madness.

I take it you speak from experience?

good question;

Sorry. I'm behind Obama all the way, but this story looks like too much of a mis-direction or a buildup for an upcoming revelation. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Today. :dono:
what will the revelation be? a mis-direction from?

what you should keep in mind is that he is for an agreement on nuclear disarmament. unlike other less...err other people.

anyway, what the fuck do I know? except if Obama led a new kingdom to a distant planet I'd pack up all of my shit and follow him. ;)

I don't know what Obama will achieve ? But He is trying so hard and the fact that He has got the balls to tackle the health insurance industry head on is amazing .

:dono: There might not even be one. It's just speculation, but it seems like an inordinate amount of attention being paid to what doesn't really look like much of an accopmplishment; just the promise of the possibility of one. As for what it's distracting us from, who knows? Could be http://english.chosun.com/site/data/htm ... 00912.html
or any one of a dozen other developments around the world that they don't want us to focus on right now.

I don't doubt that or him in particular. I'm not even saying that such mis-directions, if they indeed exist, are even bad. It just seems that some things seemed to be timed with extraordinary convenience. It's nothing new in politics. I recall reading that most Presidents schedule addresses strategically.

I'd be right beside you! Maybe less because of Obama, though I have nothing but praise for him, and more because I'd love to visit another planet, but still... :td:

I'm distracted enough by this forum, and even if I wasn't distracted what would I do? what does one do. i recycle. :what: the thing about Obama...(hey I bet five years ago "obama" would have been a typo.) he is the king of not being distracted from the things that should not be distracted from. and so, let's slip into a nice little spacejet, abduct Obama, and pray for rain, or the promise of the possibility of one. sigh.
