Pirate copy. She downloaded it from the interwebz.
Image Did not! :paddle:

As most Aussie atheists know, the book was released on August 26 in Australia and I got my copy at Dymocks that very day, so :razzle:

I didn't really think you managed to download and print out an actual book (with price sticker and all). ;)

I've still not got it yet.

RD is on the Newsnight Review discussion panel just now on BBC2 TV.
God has no place within these walls, just like facts have no place within organized religion. - Superintendent Chalmers

It's not up to us to choose which laws we want to obey. If it were, I'd kill everyone who looked at me cock-eyed! - Rex Banner

Cheers for heads-up. That was good.
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.
Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach
thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

Don't you have that BBC-iPod 7-day catch-up thingy over there? :levi:

Watching the Newsnight Review now - more later.

OK. First, RD was brilliant. He managed to get a lot of his points across quickly and succinctly (which he needed to do!)

The rest of the guests were lame - not necessarily lame in themselves (I would never claim that Margaret Atwood was a lame author) but lame as guests. We had: A descendent of Darwin who also happened to be a poet; A tame priest that 'believed' in evolution but tried to cotton-wool it in a wooist cocoon; and Margaret Atwood, a skilled author that just happened to have written a book that "merges evolution and religion". Add to this mix a presenter that spends far too much time talking and is determined (and no doubt directed) to give each of the guests an exactly equal percentage of talk-time.

Frankly, as good as you could expect - but not great. I would have preferred at least one fundie - perhaps a ranting muslim and a less interventionist presenter. You could SEE that the Dawk wanted to say far more than he was saying - shame he never got the chance.

I watched and thought it was good, I liked Ruth Padel, Darwins great great Grandaughter. You could see how proud she was to be a relative of Darwin.

I just got an email from (UK) Amazon. They are flogging TGSOE for £9 at the moment. Thought one or two might be interested.
