What's it doing?Bella Fortuna wrote:Through a series of fortuitous events I ended up getting a PS3 over the weekend, but I have a question about it - something it's doing that doesn't seem right. Anyone have any enough experience with it to help?

I want to load some photos on it to use in the slideshow function. It says to plug the device in so it can copy the files over (they're jpegs). When I plug in my camera, it never recognises it (just says "unknown device") or when I put the camera's chip in a portable drive it only sometimes recognises it and always says there are no files to copy, but they ARE there.

I knew it was a longshot.
Sorry it had nothing to do with games and explosions.

for some reason the PS3 acts like USB devices are blank until you highlight the drive, press triangle and select "display all". Does that help?

Re: Screw you guys.
PS3 seems a bit fussy about recognising different camera makes. It doesn't recognise mine at all.
It possible to set your PC up as a media centre and allow your PS3 to access all the files you have stored on your PC, (well, movies, music and photos anyway) Newer versions of MS media centre already have this option or you can download a program such as this.

I've just spent the last 12 hours on that game. What a waste of a day. Still. I'm moving up the ranks and starting to get some real snazzy weapons and perks now.

... you could have at least played a game that involved global (or better still galactic) domination.

I'll see when I get home tonight - I thought I had done that... maybe it's as simple as that.Paco wrote:for some reason the PS3 acts like USB devices are blank until you highlight the drive, press triangle and select "display all". Does that help?

Hmm, so it's not just me then. But believe me, I don't want it to have access to everything on my PC.....owtth wrote:PS3 seems a bit fussy about recognising different camera makes. It doesn't recognise mine at all.
