Audrey Hepburn must have been about 15 when those pics were taken Bella. She looks like the sort of girl who would have featured in a Waterhouse painting in those images.

I've never seen such a manipulative picture in all my life
The only solace I have is that hopefully they cooked it afterwards.

She was gorgeous, and bright too, apparently. I've heard that she was also depressive and suffered from an eating disorder for quite some time in her career.
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.
Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach
thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

She reminded me of a elf:-

Re: The Audrey Hepburn Appreciation Thread
I can't say as a person. As an Icon, she represented an step down of femininity to me. With her, women in movies passed from being mysterious and intelligent (20s-30s), even malicious and manipulative (40s), to just being a face to put on a dress. Weak and spiceless. She was as fulfilling as bubble gum and altered the route that actresses like Katherine Hepburn, Ava Gardner and silent movies' actresses had been heading. We must wait to the 1978 and the 80s to see again strong intelligent and independent women as role models. Gia, and (allow me a particular opinion): Ellen Ripley as character.
His icon in the silver screen would even emasculate Humphrey Bogart! (Sabrina) And make Cary Grant unattractive (Charade) !! and Gregory Peck a buffoon! (Roman Holiday).
I know that it was not her fault, but the trend of the after war "americana", but still... She was the pathfinder that made female aberrations like Lucille Ball and Samantha (Bewitched) to be role models... She killed this spirit:

Of course this is just a very personal opinion...

Re: The Audrey Hepburn Appreciation Thread
I don't think I've ever watched an Audrey Hepburn movie, but, Oh, my God, what a beauty.
"Her eye was on the sparrow. Her mind was on the dove,
But no one cared and no one dared to speak to her of love.
Her eyes are always hooded. Her claws are sharp as steel.
We teach her not to see too much. We teach her not to feel."

Pretty in an elfin way, but not my idea of attractive. Not too keen on her movies either.

Re: The Audrey Hepburn Appreciation Thread
Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful actresses ever to grace the screen (although too slight for me - I prefer a Monroesque figure). Acting wise, I can't say I am hugely impressed by her skills but then again I can't remember ever seeing her in a really meaty role and she always acquitted herself well enough in everything I have seen. The Nun's Story is supposed to be her best performance but I haven't seen it.
