There may be gay people. They will go to hell. But no trans people! The ads will take care of that.
Republicans have spent nearly $200 million on anti-trans ads in the midterms

They don't have much else to run on, given the mess their Dear Leader has worked so hard to make.

James O'Keefe (formerly of Project Veritas and highly thought of by Cnut) is going to save the day though. Or get himself thrown in the pokey trying.
Two conservative political commenters have now been charged for their polling place impersonation in which they highlighted Minnesota’s vouching laws during the state’s primary election.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced the charges during a press conference on Wednesday morning.

The complaints charge James O’Keefe and Cam Higby, members of the Florida-based O’Keefe Media Group, with identity theft and unlawful voting.

Back in August, the two shared videos online in which at least one member of the “Justice League” is dressed in a burqa, and other man in the video can be heard using an accent to try to vouch for others.

In the video posted online, someone in the O’Keefe and Higby group gave the first name “William” to a poll worker at Pratt Elementary School. When asked for a last name, they responded, “Pomeranz,” and then proceeded to ask about the state’s vouchig law.

William Pomeranz is an actual registered voter in Minneapolis, although O’Keefe’s group said in a statement that,“The Justice League did not impersonate anyone. At no point did we claim to be William Pomerantz or any other voter. We stated a name and asked election workers questions about Minnesota’s vouching process.”

A man in the video can be heard using an accent to try to vouch for others, but O’Keefe’s group apparently left the polling place after being told he needed to sign an oath to vouch for someone.

...

[Minnesota Secretary of State Steve] Simon said O’Keefe and his group apparently had a goal “to cast doubt on one or more Minnesota election laws,” adding, “instead, they revealed their ignorance of how those laws actually work — while putting themselves in legal jeopardy.”

Democrats have no effective counter narrative so this form of bigotry is free money for the republicans.

Erin Covey
As the House battleground map has expanded, Democrats now have the potential to win their largest majority since 2009. President Donald Trump’s approval rating is underwater even in deep red seats that he won comfortably in 2024, and heavy spending from Republicans doesn’t appear to be moving the needle.

While Democrats won’t reach the 257 seats they had following President Barack Obama’s election — a high water mark for them this century — they could surpass the majorities they had following the 2006 and 2018 blue wave cycles.

We’re now projecting that Democrats will flip 12 to 25 seats, giving them as many as 240 seats in the House. Under the updated ratings, if Democrats win the seats they’re favored in, along with all 18 Toss Ups, they would have 240 seats.

If the bottom completely falls out for Republicans, Democrats could flip some seats in the Lean Republican and Likely Republican columns as well. Republicans are particularly concerned about turnout in places like North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where Democrats are poised to win statewide races by comfortable margins.

All in the hands of little Mikie:
There’s worry about another longshot strategy. A single bureaucratic official, the clerk of the House, is responsible for putting together the roll of new members. There’s some speculation that Mike Johnson, acting under pressure from Trump, could fire the current clerk of the House and replace him with a loyalist willing to exclude some Democratic members-elect from the roll. Republicans could then theoretically move to hold a speaker vote and try and maintain their majority without the seated Democrats – a strategy that would require the support of the other Republicans in the House.

Democrats would assuredly go to federal court to stop such an effort.

Many scholars are skeptical it would work. Derek T Muller, a law professor at the University of Notre Dame, has described the speculation about replacing the clerk of the House as “sophisticated disaster porn”. Johnson has also pledged to seat Democrats who win.

“It strikes me as quite unlikely, to me, at least, that this group of Republicans–the one that takes days to choose a speaker and that regularly cannot maintain order in its ranks–is going to have the cohesion and coordination to pull off this kind of activity, which, to emphasize, can be thwarted by other means, either politically or judicially,” he wrote earlier this year.
